Essence of Exorbitance

Essence of Exorbitance is a residential apartment interior in Taoyuan, Taiwan, covering 209.6 square meters. The entryway is finished with kosmus marble, and the floor is made of three-dimensional concrete panels with a rough texture. In the living and dining area, a marble television wall suggests the form of a waving sea. The wall cabinet doors carry a hand-painted rose image in beige kiln lacquer. Titanium sheets and gold-lacquered cabinets balance the colors and add storage. The master bedroom includes hidden storage for daily needs.

Time Corridor is a residential apartment interior completed in March 2019 in Taiwan. The home covers about 130 ping in a building with a long, narrow layout, bulky beams and columns and poor air quality. A mirror ceiling visually expands the limited floor height, while decorative materials, balanced colors and visual transfer reduce the effect of the heavy structure. An energy recovery ventilation system was installed to bring in fresh air. Marble, quartz tiles, iron, engineered wood flooring and wallpaper complete the calm modern setting.

Le Rendezvous is a residential apartment interior of 188 square meters in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The layout is inspired by Sanheyuan, a traditional Chinese courtyard house, in which rooms are linked by a winding passage. Each area is clearly separated, so privacy is kept from the entrance to the living room and the dining room. Marble, metal and wallpaper are combined with wood surfaces. Black and white trapezoid marble flooring marks the entrance, and white marble walls are outlined with golden inlays. Three bedrooms with private bathrooms are included.

A staircase made entirely of Corian acts as the focal point of the home and replaces a poorly placed original stair. Corian was selected for its flexibility and durability. Wood surfaces and the punctual use of strong colors give each area its own identity. Signed Brazilian art and design pieces add lightness and value local artists.

Lights and Shadows is a residential apartment interior design of 225 square meters in New Taipei City. The design combines modern furniture with light American style wall trims. The public space holds a lounge and a dining room, and joins the role of a club reception with everyday home life. Grey is the main color, applied on delicate spray-painted walls and coarse-textured stucco walls. An orange sofa in the lounge and a blue long bench beside the dining table add contrast and balance the color temperature. A central island style television wall defines the lounge.

Horace suite demonstrated a transform of an old Hong Kong home to a modern living space. All partitioning was taken down and was reconstructed to fit re-arranged zones. The project was set to provide large, transformable space to suit different uses and occasions. The open kitchen was surrounded by grid windows, allowed sunlight to penetrate into the premise in all ways. Appliances and storages were concealed inside wall and cabinets for visual cleanness. Made use of white paint, maple wood and concrete plaster on large surfaces, the project promotes a balance between functions and comfort.

Magnificent and Graceful is a residential apartment interior in Macau, covering 1200 square meters. The design idea is derived from a music staff, echoing the nearby skyline and the ocean waves. Curved lines connect the ceiling and the wall, while varied ceiling heights conceal air conditioning units and hoses. Bali Dawn is a residential apartment interior located in Taiwan and completed in 2020. The narrow home is opened at both ends to admit direct sunlight. One end serves as a multifunctional balcony used as a view, a bathroom, a toilet and a laundry area. A glass box extends the balcony line inward and brings natural light to the middle of the plan. The rigid partition between the living room and the dining kitchen is removed to widen the shared zone. A rotating glass door acts as a flexible partition for the bedroom and offers both privacy and openness.

Home of Nature is a residential interior design for a 450 square meter home in Beijing, China. Green and white form the main palette, expressing calm and purity. The original three bedrooms were changed into one bedroom, one living room and one wine cellar. A double-sided cabinet at the entrance acts as a screen, a shoe cabinet and a display unit. A central bar counter separates the living room from the wine cellar. Materials include undecorated wall surfaces, stone, marble and titanium-plated iron parts.
