Wine and Chess

Wine and Chess is a wine case for six bottles that also serves as a chess set. Each bottle rests in a dedicated niche, and two spaces inside hold the bags with the chess pieces. When the cover is turned upside down, a chessboard with alternating red and cream squares is revealed. The box structure is made of gray wooden MDF with natural oak veneer, and the four sides of the base are covered with red goatskin with stitching. The case measures 42 by 13 by 42 centimeters. The design allows the packaging to be kept and used long after the wine is drunk.

The Heaven Lost

The Heaven Lost is a packaging box designed for a scented candle. The graphic theme is inspired by European mythology and depicts gods searching for something lost from heaven. The hand drawn illustration continues across all sides of the box, giving an aged appearance and inviting customers to turn the box. Black and white printing keeps the design clean. The structure is a simple top and bottom box measuring 83 mm in width, 83 mm in depth and 102 mm in height. The box is made of 240gsm Munken Lynx, an uncoated sustainable paper in a natural white shade.

The concept follows the wine out of the box design, which is the notion of moving wine from the big barrel to a smaller barrel so as to not lose its natural habitat.

Genie

Genie is a handmade gift packaging designed to hold a pen. The opening method is inspired by the form of a magic lamp, creating a sense of mystery when the gift is received. The body is shaped with diamond like geometric facets for a luxurious appearance. Walnut wood from Iranian gardens is engraved by a skilled carpenter to form the surface and volume. The interior is lined with natural leather to hold the pen securely. A hinge moves the pen holder as the lid opens, raising the holder to a vertical position. The package measures 195 mm long, 70 mm wide and 58 mm high.

Caihu

Caihu is a packaging design for soybean oil. The bottle is made from plant fiber recovered from agricultural straw that remains after the harvest of soybeans, wheat and sugarcane. The straw is pressed into shape with molds, creating a degradable container that replaces plastic and glass. The low weight also suits delivery by post. Each bottle holds 550 millilitres and stands 260 millimetres high. The form follows the shape of a soybean pod, which makes the bottle comfortable to hold. After use, the empty bottle can serve as a plant pot.

The design of the KannuNaUm wine labels is characterized by its refined and minimal style, obtained by searching for symbols that can represent their history. Territory, culture and passion of vinegrowers of the "Land of Longevity" are condensed into these two coordinated labels. Everything is enhanced by the design of centenarian grapevine that has been made with the technique of gold poured in 3D. An iconographic design that represents the history of these wines and with them the history of the land from which is born, Ogliastra the Land of the Centenaries in Sardinia.

Jane is a packaging design for a foldable mobile phone. The design references bamboo and wooden slips, an ancient Chinese book form, and uses traditional Chinese letterforms. The box is made entirely of special paper with a wood and fabric texture, without plastic or other materials. The user manual wraps around the outer surface and is held in place by magnets. The manual can be detached and rolled up. The box opens with a tab, and the products inside are arranged in separate layers. The packaging measures 198 by 192 by 47 millimeters.

Luhua Xiaomo is packaging designed for grinding sesame oil, a hand-made oil produced in small quantities. The container is a straight cylindrical glass bottle, 50 mm in diameter and 210 mm high. The adhesive label wraps 350 degrees around the bottle and is laid out like an old newspaper, recalling a time when food was wrapped in newspaper. The characters are set vertically, in the manner of old Chinese shop signs. The narrow uncovered gap becomes an embossed steelyard mark that shows the amount held inside.

Chu Cellar is a packaging design for a liquor produced in Hubei, China. The bottle is made of ceramic, and its shape imitates a set of chime bells, a cultural relic of the ancient state of Chu. The grain on the bottle body is cast in an open mould, and the box is made of wood. Raised and recessed lines on the surface reduce the chance of slipping during handling. The base of the box works as a display stand, so the empty bottle can be kept as an ornament. The intent is to reflect the history and culture of the region of origin.

Bestore Handy Gift is a series of snack gift boxes. The series was created to extend an existing snack brand range with non-standard products. Each box is made of white cardboard and sized according to the product inside. A printed paper belt runs along the right side of every box, uniting fifty different boxes under one series and supporting an orderly display on shelves and counters. The illustrations are arranged at a forty-five degree angle and framed in gold. Lines and selected elements are applied by gold stamping.

Adore is a packaging design for sanitary pads. The packaging uses a handwritten typeface as the main design element to create a sense of youth and vibrancy. The layout is minimal and set against a plain background, so attention is drawn to the theme of feminine health. Each pack is made of fully sealed aluminium foil with a resealable closure, allowing users to take what is needed and close the pack again to protect the pads from germs and bacteria. Three sizes are produced, for pantyliner, day and night use.
