Fusion

Fusion is a jewelry collection made of silver, formed by a ring and a necklace. An algorithm generates a Voronoi skeleton, used as a metaphor for the organic connection of forms. The shapes blend features such as the spreading wings of butterflies and the opening of buds. Different viewing angles reveal different biomorphic features. Both pieces are modular, so they can be combined with other accessories and worn in several ways. The collection is 3D modelled, 3D printed and cast in silver with the lost wax method.

This hand-crafted wearable art piece can be worn as an accessory or even displayed at home. Using a novel double-sided 3D embroidery technique, the same pattern was simultaneously stitched on both sides of the piece. Its thin, powdery, and shiny wings could be reproduced with single strands and wires, resulting in a lifelike 3D butterfly with form-changeable wings. The wings were attached firmly to pedestals so they will not easily come off. The genuine gold and platinum threads used are so hard that until now, they have never been used in Japan’s embroidery industry.

Orbit A Collection is a series of handcrafted jewelry that includes a brooch and two necklaces. Each piece is one of a kind and combines sterling silver with plastic tubes, resin clay and paint. The same plastic component is repeated as a basic module to create varied wearable and sculptural forms. Traditional metalsmithing methods such as soldering, forming and chain making are used, together with plastic welding, sanding and coloring. The collection reflects the relationship between traditional craft and modern mass production.

This project created from a sense of an Orchid garden. The overall design looks refreshing, vibrant and lively. It is an adjustable size ring with various shapes of Amethyst in the flower petals. The combination of colors is contrast yet attractive with purple and off-white. It consists of duo gems, Amethyst and Pearl and another Pearl with a little butterfly on it. When you wear it on, it looks like a flower and bud floating in between two fingers which contain nature feeling and momentum of movement.

Siin Beirut is a gold charm bracelet of 5 letters based on the Kufic Arabic script forming the word "Beirut", with diacritic dots in turquoise stones. The charms are of a modular unit with characters of 2.5x5.5 units; this structure allows for the ascenders and descenders of the Arabic characters to be uniform in size. While these characters are often connected, these isolated ones can be moved around to form new words. The pointed arches in the script are laser engraved on top to mirror the arches found in Beirut's traditional architecture.

Production is carried out by a social inclusion project in Brazil that serves low-income people with mental illness and social vulnerability. The collection gives a new use to a material that is discarded every day, and it keeps the whole cycle sustainable, from material to production.

Dancing Gerberas is a pair of earrings inspired by the gerbera flower. The design follows the organic patterns found in Art Nouveau architecture. The earrings capture the moment when the flowers begin to dry and release their fragrance, an idea expressed through the movement of the hanging stones. Each piece is hand carved in wax, cast in sterling silver, hand polished and finished with 18 karat gold plating to separate the color of the flower from the stem. Faceted garnet drops are added by hand with gold filled wire. Each pair measures 40 mm in width and 70 mm in height.

Eve's weapon is made of 750 carat rose and white gold. It contains 110 diamonds (20.2ct) and consists of 62 segments. All of them have two completely different appearances: In side view the segments are apple shaped, in top view V-shaped lines can be seen. Each segment is split sideways to create the spring loading effect holding the diamonds – the diamonds are held by tension only. This advantageously emphasizes the luminosity, brilliance and maximizes the visible radiance of the diamond. It allows for a extremely light and clear design, despite the size of the necklace.

Each round jade is carved by hand in the shape of a Chinese safety buckle, a form linked with peace and good fortune, and has a hole in the middle. A gold screw structure passes through the hole and holds the jade in place. The screw can be turned so that the jade is removed or placed again. Each piece can be worn in two ways, with the jade or without it. The collection is intended to create interaction between wearers and jades.
