Artificial Topography

Big Furniture Like a Cave This is the award-winning project won the Grand Prize of Art in Container International Competition. My idea is to hollow out the volume inside a container in order to build amorphous space like a cave. It is made of only plastic material. About 1000 sheets of the soft plastic material of 10-mm thickness were cut down in contour line form and were laminated like stratum. This is not only art but also big furniture. Because all the portions are soft like a sofa, and person who enter into this space can relax by finding the place suitable for the form of its own body.

Wuhan Pixel Box Cinema

“Pixel” is the basic element of images, designer explores relationship of movement and pixel to become the theme of this design. “Pixel” is applied in different areas of the cinema. The box office grand hall houses a tremendous curved envelop formed by over 6000 pieces of stainless steel panels. The feature display wall is decorated with huge amount of square strips protruding from the wall is presenting the glamorous name of cinema. Inside this cinema, everyone would enjoy the great atmosphere of digital world generated by the cohesion of all “Pixel” elements.

This bag reimagines Kumihimo, which is a traditional Japanese braiding technique from the Edo period. By replacing stitching with durable braided cords, the design achieves both structural strength and flexibility. The minimalist form highlights the craftsmanship, while the structure embodies Musubi, the Japanese philosophy of spiritual and physical connection. This piece seamlessly integrates historical beauty into modern daily life, celebrating the bond between the object and its owner.

This backpack reimagines the traditional Japanese Randosel for daily use. By removing its characteristic flap, the design features a silhouette composed of straight lines and curves. The ergonomic back panel is structured to provide support while maintaining a formal appearance. The exterior is simplified by removing pockets, and the opening is redesigned for easy access. This backpack aims to balance form with practical utility.
